EPL Weeek 17: Dedebit extends lead as Coffee & Hawassa share point

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Dedebit FC extended its lead of the Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) with a 3-1 victory over Ethiopian Insurance here on Friday in Week 17 of the competition. Meanwhile, its nearest rivals Hawassa Kenema and Ethiopian Coffee shared a point (1-1) in Hawassa yesterday.

Dedebit’s top scorer Getaneh Kebede scored a couple of his team’s goals to increase his season’s tally to 16 goals.

Two other matches took place on Friday. St. George defeated last placed Water Works 3-1 and Defence Force beat Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) 1-0.

EEPCO and Sidama Coffee secured 3 valuable points with a 1-0 away wins in Adama and Arba Minch respectively.
