Sheikh Mohammed Al-Amoudi Stadium to be Inaugurated on January 14
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Ali Al-Amoudi Stadium, which is located in Woldia, Wollo, will be inaugurated on January 14, 2017.
The stadium was built at a cost of 500 million Ethiopian Birr (more than $22 million US dollars) and took 4.5 years to complete.
The Ethiopian-born Saudi business tycoon Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Ali Al-Amoudi, who was born in Woldia, financed the bill.
Stadium’s Amenities:
- Capacity: 25,155 seats
- Ground tennis court, basketball court, Olympic size swimming pool, volleyball field, hand ball field and guest house.
- Meets the requirements of both FIFA and IAAF to hold international sporting events
- It also has 4 dressing rooms, 156 floodlights, 8 sound proof press rooms, VIP seats, state of the art drainage system, parking lot, internet and telephone services and 36 water tankers.
