Ethiopian Coffee demolish Adama City 6-1 to move up to third place
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The 29th week of the 2009/10 Ethiopian Premier League continued here on yesterday with Ethiopian Coffee demolishing Adama City 6-1 and move up to third place. The two teams drew scoreless in the first round.
Ethiopian Coffee and Adama City have played 29 matches, W13, D8 and L8 for a total of 47 points, but the former has a better goal difference (+18 vs +7).
In other matches, St. George defeated EEPCO 3-0, while Dedebit FC and Defence Forces played a to a 2-2 draw.
The Saints, who despite having a game in hand, built a 15-points lead over Dedebit FC, will surely be crowned champions of the 2009/10 season, and Meta Abo Brewery (20 pts) will definitely be relegated. What remains unclear is who among the bottom 5 teams, namely Dire Dawa City, EEPCO, Trans Ethiopia, South Police & Metehara Sugar (they’re separated by just 4 pts), will join them to the lower division.
