Amsterdam, Holland – The annual Ethiopian soccer tournament in Europe was held here last week. Ethio-Switzerland won the trophy by defeating Ethio-Cologne (Germany) 4-1 in the final.

Ethio-Swtizerland reached the final after defeating Ethio-Sweden in a thrilling penalty shootout after the two teams finished 3-3 in regulation time. Ethio-Switzerland had to thank their goalie Goshu who saved his team in the shootout after he made several saves. Ethio-Sweden were leading 4-2 in the penalty kicks at one time. Ethio-Cologne defeated Ethio-Roma (Italy) 2-0 in the semi-final.

This year’s tournament attracted the largest crowd in the tournament’s history. Samir of Ethio-Switzerland was voted “Best Player of the Tournament” with Ethio-Cologne’s captain and amazing playmaker Be-Amlak finishing second. Abebe of Ethio-Switzerland was named “Best Coach of the Tournament”.
