Kenenisa Bekele Hotel to open this year

Addis Ababa – World & Olympic 5,000m & 10,000m records holder and one of Ethiopia’s greatest athletes, Kenenisa Bekele is expected to open his much anticipated hotel here in the capital soon. 

The new 4-star hotel, which bears his name, is built in the Bole Medhane-Alem Church area, one of Addis’ posh and upscale neighborhoods. 

This will mark the third venture in the hospitality business for the talented athlete, who already operates two hotels in Assela and Bekoji, where he was born and grew up. 

Kenenisa Hotels is designed by Italian consultant and designer Carlo Stronati and will feature short stay rooms and longer stay apartments.  Guests will also have the opportunity to view some of Kenenisa’s trophies and memorabilia, which will be displayed in the hotel main lobby.   

The proximity to Bole International Airport will make the hotel a suitable choice for transit passengers, and his athletic fame will no doubt help attract thousands of guests every year.
