Atsede Habtamu of Ethiopia wins Eindhoven Marathon, sets new course record
Eindhoven, The Netherlands – The 2009 Real Berlin Marathon champion Atsede Habtamu Besuye of Ethiopia, has won the Eindhoven Marathon here on Sunday in a new course record time of 2:25.35. The previous mark of 2:29:45 was held by Dutchwoman Nadja Wijenberg since 1999.ÂÂ
The men’s event was won by Charles Kamathi of Kenya  (2:07:38).ÂÂ
Atsede, who will be celebrating her 23rd birthday on the 26th of this month, won by nearly five minutes ahead of fellow compatriot Tsega Gelaw, but failed to lower her 2009 Berlin Marathon finishing time of 2:24.27 as her pacesetter left the course after 25 kilometers.ÂÂ
