St. George defeats Dedebit 3-2 to clinch 12th Ethiopian Super Cup Title

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Defending champions St. George defeated Ethiopian Cup winner Dedebit FC 3-2 to clinch its 12^th Ethiopian Super Cup at the Abebe Bikila Stadium here today. 

The two teams finished the first half with St. George leading 2-1.

Sir Dave Richards, Chairman of the English Premier League, who was currently visiting the country, was in attendance. 

Midfielders Suleiman Mohammed and Yonatan Berhane and striker Adane Girma scored St. George’s goals. Getaneh Kebede scored both goals for Dedebit. 

Overall, St.George were the better side.

 The Ethiopia Super Cup is an annual soccer match between the reigning Ethiopia Premier League champion and the winner of the Ethiopia Cup (FA Cup).
