Coach Onuora not worried by Ethiopia’s Group C opponents in CECAFA Challenge Cup
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – National football team’s head coach Iffy Onuora, in an interview with Ethiopian Television (ETV), said that despite the lack of adequate time preparation for the upcoming CECAFA Challenge Cup, he is not worried by any of Ethiopia’s opponents in Group C, as the standard of their football is similar to that of the Walias.
The 12 teams who will be taking in the competition, have been put into three groups of four, with the top two sides in each pool qualifying for the quarter-finals, along with the two best third-place finishers.
Group A: Tanzania, Zambia, Burundi and Somalia
Group B: Rwanda, Ivory Coast, Sudan and Zambia
GROUP C: Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and Malawi
Prize Money
THE winner of this year’s CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup will pocket $30,000, with the losing finalist and third place team receiving $20,000 and $10,000 respectively.
