Ethiopia Football: Defence Force fails to overtake Ethiopian Coffee at the top
Addis Ababa – Defence Force failed to overtake Ethiopian Coffee at the top of the top of the Ethiopian Premier League when it was held to a 1-1 draw yesterday by the visiting Harar Brewery team here at Abebe Bikila Stadium.
Defence led 1-0 at half-time thanks to Chala Deriba’s goal, but Harar pulled one back after the interval to draw level.
Considering that it will be missing 9 players (3 for the Ethiopian national team and 6 through injuries) for today’s match, Defence Force pleaded with the Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) to postpone the game for another day, but to no avail.
Ethiopian Coffee remains at the top with 14 points, followed by Defence Force with 13.
