Ethiopia Football: Oumed Oukri & teammates receive cash bonus
Addis Ababa -Defence Force Sports Club has awarded cash bonuses for three of its players who represented Ethiopia at the CECAFA Challenge Cup in Tanzania, wrote Libro.
Oumed Oukri, the team’s midfield general and Ethiopia’s top scorer at the tournament with 4 goals received 2,000 Birr, while Bedasso Hora and Samuel received 1,500 Birr each.
Earlier this month, the Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) had awarded Oumed 7,000 Birr at a reception ceremony following the team’s return from Tanzania. This brings Oumed’s total bonus award to 9,000 Birr.
Oumed has scored 7 goals in all competitions this season, with 3 goals for his club Defence Force in the Ethiopian Premier League competition and 4 for the national team in the CECAFA Tournament.
Oumed is the second most successful player to come out from the Gambela Region of Ethiopia, after the late Okelo Abulo, who played his club soccer at St. George FC.
