Ethiopia Football: St. George vs EEPCO no longer big ticket match

Addis Ababa – St. George and EEPCO, two of Ethiopia’s oldest teams and one-time rivals will face each other on Sunday in Week 11 of the Ethiopian Premier League (EPL).

The two sides have won 10 of the last 13 Ethiopian Premier League titles, with St. George clinching a staggering 8 championships.

The anticipation and expectation when the two teams met in the past was mind blowing. The stadium will be filled to capacity and football fans were never disappointed as they would witness great technical ability and amazing goals.

But these days, a match between the two teams is no longer seen as a big ticket item, and the fact that the two sides are languishing at the bottom of the table, doesn’t help either.
