Ayele & Abebech victorious at PWN Egmond Half Marathon
Egmond aan Zee, The Netherlands –Ayele Abshero and Abebech Afework of Ethiopia scored victories in the men and women’s categories at the 29th edition of the PWN Egmond Half Marathon here on Sunday.
Men Category
Ayele finished first in 1:02:23, thirty seconds ahead of Wilfred Kirwa, while fellow Ethiopian Abebe Dinkessa claimed third place in 1:03:10.
In the women’s race, Ethiopian athletes claimed the top two positions, with Abebech Afework and Workitu Ayanu finishing 1-2 and Melkam Gizaw coming in 4th place.
Lornah Kiplagat of Kenya withdrew midway in the race due to recurring injury.
