Ethiopian Premier League to resume next week
Addis Ababa – The Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) competition, which has been interrupted for the past two weeks so that St. George FC and Dedebit FC can play their matches in hand, will resume next week, reported the Amharic sports website Libro.
Defending champions St. George and Dedebit FC had a number of their matches postponed as each team had 5 players selected for the national side, which competed in the CECAFA Challenge Cup tournament in Tanzania.
Adama City is scheduled to play against Ethiopian Coffee on Sunday, January 31, but the team has informed the league that it will not be ready until the week after February 7, 2011.
Adama City FC is still mourning the death of two of its club members and 8 of its players are still nursing the injuries they’ve suffered following their bus crash in Tigray region earlier this month.
Sports Business Course
Meanwhile, Libro reported that two FIFA representatives will give a 5-day Sports Business Course for EPL managers, marketing and public relations professionals here on Monday.
The FIFA representatives are from South Africa and Ireland.
