Ethiopian Premier League: Hawassa City moves to 2nd place
Yirgalem – Hawassa City defeated Lideta Nyala 1-0 here today to move to 2nd place in the Ethiopian Premier League (EPL).
Hawassa has now 24 points, three points behind leader Defence Force (12 matches).
However, Hawassa has played more matches (14) than 3rd place Ethiopian Coffee (21pts/11matches) and fourth Dedebit FC (16pts/10 matches).
This was the only EPL match scheduled this week as St. George and Dedebit FC are competing in African Clubs competitions and the other matches were postponed.
The EPL has received a lot of criticism from fans and the media for continually moving and postponing matches, thus disrupting the competition’s momentum.
