Trek Ethiopia Challengers raised over £32,000 for Transaid
UK– A team of UK-based transport industry professionals raised £32,000 for charity group Transaid by trekking over 60km in Ethiopia.
Transaid operates several life saving projects in Africa.
The group, which included representatives from Wincanton, Virgin Atlantic Cargo, Global Freight Solutions, Ann Summers, Acumen Logistics, Clare Bottle Ltd and Euro RSCG Worldwide, trekked up to nine hours per day to raise the money.
Their trip began and ended in the capital, Addis Ababa, and took them on a trail over the spectacular Simien Mountains, which include peaks more than 4,000 metres high, and through national parks inhabited by rare species including gelada baboons, ibexes and Simien wolves.
