Ethiopian Premier League: St. George destroys Lideta Nyala 3-0
Addis Ababa –Defending champions St. George FC destroyed Lideta Nyala 3-0 here today in Week 17 of the Ethiopian Premier League competitions which saw 5 matches ending in ties.
The Saints led 2-0 at half-time thanks to 2 goals from their leading striker Adane Girma (19’ & 44’) and Alula Girma added a third ten minutes into the second half.
The victory helped St. George overtake Sidama Coffee to 5th place.
In other matches, Sidama Coffee shared valuable point with EEPCO here in the capital after the two teams drew 1-1. It was EEPCO, which opened the score thanks to Philip Dawz (61’) and Sisay Amare helped Sidama Coffee leveled the score in the dying minutes.
There were three matches that ended in scoreless ties: Ethiopian Coffee vs Harar Brewery in Dire Dawa, Fincha Sugar vs Adama City in Fincha and Mugher Cement vs Defence Force in Assela.
In Adigrat, Trans Ethiopia was held to a 1-1 draw by Sebeta City.
