Ethiopia Football: Dedebit & Defence Force overtake St. George
Addis Ababa – Dedebit FC defeated the visiting Harar Brewery team 2-0 here today to overtake St. George at the top of the Ethiopian Premier League.
Defence Force joined Dedebit at the top with a 1-0 victory over last-placed Fincha Sugar.
Meanwhile, the surprising team of the year Sidama Coffee continues its climb to the top with a 2-0 away win against Dire Dawa City, and cutting down the gap with the league leader to just 3 points.
Defending champions St. George were held to a goalless draw by EEPCO, and thus dropped to 3rd place but with just 1 point behind Dedebit and Defence Force.
Adama City beat Trans Ethiopia 2-0 at home and Sebeta City and Mugher Cement drew 1-1.
The league will continue tomorrow with CBE hosting Hawassa City and Ethiopian Coffee taking on Lideta Nyala.
Coffee could join Dedebit to the top with a victory tomorrow.
