Ethiopia to face Malawi in Soccer Friendly
Addis Ababa–The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) has accepted Malawi’s request for a friendly soccer match here on October 4.
The Malawi Flames will use the match as a preparation for their decisive 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier encounter with Chad four days later in N’djamena.
The Maravipost newspaper of Malawi reported that the Flames are expected to cover their accommodation bills in Addis.
The team, which is composed of mostly foreign-based professionals , have selected seven locals.
The Ethiopian Walias, who are in Group B of the 2012 AFCON qualifiers, will use the friendly to weigh their strength ahead of their away game against Madagascar. They are third in their group with four points from five games.
Malawi will simply need a win against Chad to secure their back-to-back qualification to the finals.
