Genzebe Dibaba wins Gold medal in 1,500m for Ethiopia
Istambul, Turkey – Genzebe Dibaba, younger sister of world class athletes Tirunesh and Ejegayehu, won a gold medal for Ethiopia at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships here today when she finished first in the women’s 1,500m in a time of 4:05.78.
Genezebe’s gold is Ethiopia’s first in these championships. The United States leads the medal table, followed by Great Britain, Ukraine and Ethiopia.
Meanwhile, compatriot Tizita Bogale came in 6th place in 4:10.98.
