Al Ahly advances with a 3-0 victory over Ethiopian Coffee

Cairo, Egypt – Al Ahly of Egypt advanced to the top 16 of the 2012 Orange CAF Champions League with a 3-0 aggregate score over Ethiopian Coffee here today.

The two teams played a scoreless match in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia  two weeks ago.

Just like their Ethiopian counterparts St. George, Ethiopian Coffee also conceded a goal very early into the match (8’) when Brazilian Junior dos Santos headed a goal after receiving a beautiful cross from Mohamed Aboutrika.

In the second half, Al Ahly added two more goals courtesy of their star player Mohamed Aboutrika (60’pen & 76’) to advance to the next round.

Overall, Al Ahly deserves to win as they dominated the match, especially in the second half, where they could have scored 4-5 goals.

For their parts, Ethiopian Coffee had a few goal scoring chances of their own, but they failed to convert them.
