Al Ahly claim 5th African Super Cup
Egyptian giants Al Ahly beat AC Leopards of Congo 2-1 to win their 5th African Super Cup at Bog El Arab stadium in the port city of Alexandria.
Goals from Ramy Moustafa  and Mohamed Barakat. were enough to overcome a determined  Congolese side who put on a brave fight on the night.
Ahly started out strong and forays from the right flank where Sayed Hamdy was a constant threat with runs that produced several good crosses into the box. On 8th minute one such cross found Ahmed Darwish in the box but his shot which was on traget was diverted for a corner as Ahly stretched out the Congolese defence.
Ahly then went close after good work from Mohamed Barakat whose deliftful cros was headed by Darwish but the header was straight into goalkeeper Gildas Kihouoko’s hands.
AC captain Rudy Ndey got the best chance for his side after 20 minutes collecting a long ball on his chest from Kombo Bienenu he attempted an acrobatic kick but his shot hit into the ground lacked the sting to trouble Sherif Ekramy Ahmed in goal for Al Ahly.’ Read more CAFonline
