Ethiopia earns more than $ 229 million from manufacturing sector
Addis Ababa (WIC) – Ethiopia has earned $229.4 million from the export of manufactured goods in the last ten months of this fiscal year, according to the Ethiopian Ministry of Industry.
Public Relations Directorate Director Melaku Taye told WIC that the revenue was earned through the exports of textiles and clothes, leather and leather products, agro-processing, Pharmaceuticals and chemicals to various countries.
WIC learnt that $98 million 492 thousand of the income was earned from leather and leather products, $83 million 421 thousand from textiles and clothes, $41 million 100 thousand from agro-processing and $6 million 401 from pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
The ten months revenue exceeds that of the same period last year by more than 4.2, according to the director.
