Ethiopia earns $ 2.8 bln from export
Addis Ababa (WIC) –Ethiopia earned 2.8 billion US dollars from various products exported during the past 11 months, according to the Ministry of Trade (MoT).
Ministry Corporate Communication Directorate Directore, Amakele Yimam, told WIC today that the stated sum of revenue was secured from the export of 37, 358 tonnes of agricultural produces, manufacturing, minerals and other products.
According to Amakele, gold and other minerals generated over 1.55 billion dollars; followed by coffee, which generated over 653.8 million dollars and oilseeds over 404.1 million dollars.
Pulses, flowers, vegetables and fruits as well other products take the remaining share of the income, he said.
The income earned in the reported period has declined compared to the same period the previous year. However, the amount of products exceeded, he said.
The nation envisaged earning 5 billion US dollars from export in this Ethiopian budget year, it was learnt.
