Ethiopian Academy of Sciences officially launched
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (ERTA) – The Ministry of Science and Technology said on Thursday it would provide the necessary support to the newly established Ethiopian Academy of Sciences in its endeavor for research works.
The remark was made by Dassie Dalke, Minister of Science and Technology, on the official establishment of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences. He said the Academy would create a huge potential to undertake problem solving researches and advance science and technology.
President of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences Professor Demissie Habte for his part said members of the Academy are undertaking various research works that have significant impact on the nation’s development.
The Academy would follow a system that would enable the research works put into practice, thereby solve the problems in the society, he said.
The President said the Academy is making preparations to host African Academy of Sciences conference to take place in Addis Ababa in November.
Members of the Parliament, Ministers and other officials took part in the founding conference.
The Ethiopian Academy of Sciences was established three years ago by a group of prominent scholars who wish to promote the Sciences to flourish and bring about development, prosperity and improved health services for the peoples of Ethiopia. (ERTA)
