Mikel upbeat ahead of Ethiopia clash
Nigeria’s John Obi Mikel is not distracted by the hype surrounding the much awaited World Cup playoff clash against Ethiopia saying he is totally focused on Sunday’s game.
The Chelsea midfielder admitted that the hosts would pose a tough challenge but maintained that the African champions are determined to win the first leg at the National Stadium in Addis Ababa.
“My focus is on Sunday’s game and nothing else. Ethiopia are a good side but we have to realize both of us are fighting to qualify for the World Cup. We have to work hard and get all the three points against our opponents to realize our dream,” Mikel told supersport.com.
Nigeria arrived in Addis Ababa on Saturday and held a training session before the crunch match against the Walia Ibex.
