St. George appoints Mart Nooij as head coach

Addis Ababa – Ethiopia football giants St.George have appointed Dutchman Martinus Ignatius ‘Mart’ Nooij as their new coach just few weeks after the league resumed.
St. George who failed to win the league last season have sought the services of the experienced Nooij in 2010 led Mozambique to the Africa Cup of Nations following a 12 year hiatus from the continental football showpiece.
Nooij’s credentials are impressive having worked at the Royal Dutch Football Association before being appointed as the coach for Burkina Faso U-20 team.
His last station of work was at South African side Santos where he only stayed for nine months before being sacked.
St.George have been facing a rough patch as they lost their opening season match against Coffee a match that would have seen them qualify for the coveted Caf Confederations Cup.
