Sheraton Lagos Gets New Area Manager

Lagos, Nigeria – Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide have announced the appointment of Mr Barry Curran to the position of Area Manager Nigeria and General Manager for Sheraton Lagos Hotel, Nigeria. According to a statement by the Public Relations Manager, Nigeria, Nanji Tyem, “in his capacity, he will report to Mr. Hassn Ahdab, Vice President, Regional Director – Africa & Indian Ocean.

Prior to this appointment, Barry was the Area Manager, Cairo Hotels based at Le Meridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa in Egypt, a position he held since 2012. Barry who is an Irish by birth with education from Shannon College of Hotel Management and Cornell University took on his first role with Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2005 as General Manager at Le Meridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa.

Barry, has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry and occupied various management positions in Ireland, United Kingdom, Guyana and Egypt. he new Area General Manager has consistently led the competitive set in terms of generated revenue and played vital roles on profitability.

Barry has to his credit a proven track record in coaching and developing high performance teams and individuals, a number of which have been promoted to general manager and area roles.
