IAAF World Junior Championships: Ethiopia to send 23 Athletes
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Ethiopian Athletics Federation (EAF) has announced that it will send 23 athletes to the 2014 IAAF World Athletics Championships, which will be held from July 22-17, 2014 in Eugene, Oregon (USA).
During a sendoff dinner held at the National Hotel here in the capital, the EAF said that the team will leave for the United States tomorrow evening.
The 23 athletes are:
Male
100m & 200m: Amanuel Abebe
800m: Mamush Lencha and Jena Oumer
1,500m: Chalachew Shimeles and Aregawi Berhané
5,000m: Yomif Kejelcha and Yasin Hadji
10,000m: Tsegayé Mekonnen and Yehunelegn Adane
3,000m Steeple Chase: Hailemariam Amare and Meressa Kahsay
Female:
100m: Tigist Tamagnu
400m: Genet Liré
800m: Zeytuna Mohammed and Dureti Ida’o
1,500m: Dawit Seyaum and Gudaf Tsegayé
3,000m: Senberé Tefferi and Etagegn Woldu (reserve: Berhan Demissé)
5,000m: Alemitu Hawi and Alemitu Haroyé
3,000m Steeplechase: Weyneshet Ansa
400m Hurdles: Meaza Kebede
