Adama Kenema FC wins Ethiopian National League Title
Bahir Dar, Ethiopia – Adama Kenema won the 2013/4 Ethiopian National League Championship title by beating Woldiya Kenema FC on penalty kicks here.
Woldiyat scored first but Adama equalized just a few minutes before the end of regulation time. So, the two teams went to penalty kicks and Adama won 5-4.
With the victory, Adama was declared champion of the league and Woldiya, the runner-up. As a result, the two teams will join the prestigious Ethiopian Premier League next year.
Meanwhile, Sululta Kenema FC defeated Wolkite Kenema FC 3-1 to finish in 3rd place.
Adama’s coach Ashenafi Bekele, who previously was in charge of Ethiopian Women Football team and Ethiopian Premier League teams Banks and Mekelakeya (Defence), was declared Coach of the Year.
