EFF requests release of foreign based players for Algeria encounter
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) said that it has sent letters to clubs of foreign based Ethiopian players asking for their release so they could join the Walia Ibex’s training camp in preparation of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations preliminary matched with “The Fennecs” of Algeria.
The two teams will play the first leg match on September 6 in Addis, with the return leg match taking place in Algiers two weeks later.
The players mentioned are Saladin Said (Al Ahly, Egypt), Oumed Oukri (Al Itihad of Alexandria, Egypt), Getaneh Kebede (Bidvest Wits, South Africa) and Addis Hintsa ( Al Ahly Shendi, Sudan).
The federation expects the players to join their teammates by Sunday, August 24 here in Addis.
Meanwhile, Coach Mariano Barreto, who is currently with the Walias in Brazil said that he also wants Yussuf Saleh (IK Sirius Fotbal, Sweden) and Seyoum Tesfaye to join his team.
