AFCON 2015: Barreto selects 28 players
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia –Walia Ibex coach Mariano Barreto has selected 28 players in preparation of the October 11 encounter against Mali for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The two teams will meet twice within a space of 4 days. First, they’ll face each other on October 11 in Addis Ababa and in Bamako on October 15.
The 28 players are:
Goalkeepers (3): Jemal Tassew, Sisay Bancha and Tarik Getnet.
Defenders (9): Tok James, Abebaw Butako, Berhanu Bogale, Aklilu Ayenew, Saladin Bergecho, Alula Girma, Andargachew Yelak, Wahid Atta and Anteneh Tesfaye.
Midfielders (12): Shimeles Bekele, Tadele Mengesha, Mentesenot Adane, Asrat Megerssa, Adane Girma, Yusuf Saleh, Efrem Ashamo, Natnael Zeleke, Menyahel Teshome, Frew Solomon, Dawit Estifanos and Amin Askar.
Forwards (4): Getaneh Kebede, Saladin Said, Umed Oukri and Dawa Itissa.
The team will start training on September 23.
