Press Release
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Ethiopian Aviation Academy, the largest aviation academy in Africa and an IATA authorized global training center, is pleased to announce that it has graduated 96 aviation technicians and 25 marketing professionals at a ceremony held at Ethiopian Headquarters on 25 September 2014.
At the graduation ceremony, Ethiopian Chief Executive Officer Ato Tewolde Gebremariam gave out diplomas to all the graduates and prizes to graduates with outstanding academic performance.
CEO Tewolde Gebremariam said, “Ethiopian Aviation Academy is the bedrock of the airline’s success. That is why over the last 4 years, we have invested heavily to increase its in-take capacity from just over 200 trainees per year to over 1,000 at present. The successful implementation of our fast, profitable and sustainable growth strategy, Vision 2025, depends on the continuous supply of skilled aviation workforce that supports this growth. We will continue to invest in the Academy to upgrade both the scope of its trainings and its in-take capacity to cater not only for Ethiopian airlines but also the needs of the African aviation industry.”
Ethiopian Aviation Academy is certified by the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority, the U.S Federal Aviation Administration, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and IATA Safety Audit (IOSA). The Academy has been providing training for pilots, maintenance technicians, cabin crew, and marketing personnel and in leadership development for Ethiopian and sisterly African countries for more than six decades.
