Addis Ababa to host 12th African Junior Athletics Championships
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Ethiopian Athletics Federation (EAF) has announced today that Addis Ababa will host the 12th African Junior Athletics Championships, which will be held here from February 10 to March 8, 2015.
Abdisa Yadeta, Ethiopia’s Sports Commissioner said that decision was made after the EAF held a meeting with the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA).
Athletes from 30 African countries are expected to take part in the championship.
The Confederation of African Athletics Council will hold a meeting February 1-2 during which time board members will be elected.
The 16th African Athletics Championships held in Addis in 2008 were deemed very successful.
Ethiopia has produced some of the greatest athletes in the world and its capital, Addis Ababa is home to the African Union.
