Kigali to Host Africa International Sports Convention
Rwanda national Olympic Committee will host the 9th edition of the Africa International Sports Convention (CISA) which will be held in Kigali from March 11-15 at Lemigo Hotel.
The meeting will discuss, among other things, sports development, sports infrastructure, growth of tourism, the opportunities of sports tourism in emerging countries, sports events management and the development of African cities, as well as planning, funding and management of sports facilities.
While addressing a press conference on Thursday at the Ministry of Sports and Culture, the RNOC boss, Robert Bayigamba said the meeting is aimed at developing sports in Africa.
“We are happy to receive many sportsmen and women from across the continent. We need to use this opportunity to learn how other countries have developed and we will recognize some of the best Africans who have done well for the world,” Bayigamba said.
The five-day event will cost an estimated US$139,000 (about Rwf98m). The event’s sponsors include; Rwanda Development Board and the Ministry of Sports and Culture among others.
