Emirates Appoints New Country Manager for Ethiopia
Addis Ababa: Ethiopia– Emirates, a global connector of people and places, has appointed Afzal Parambil, as its new Country Manager for Ethiopia.
Congratulating Mr. Parambil on his new appointment, Orhan Abbas, Emirates Senior Vice President for Latin America, Central and Southern Africa, said: “Ethiopia is a very important market for Emirates and we are delighted that Mr. Parambil will serve as our new Country Manager. It’s part of our human resources strategy to continuously develop and enhance our employees’ capabilities across the Group through providing them with new challenges and opportunities,” he added.
Mr. Parambil will be responsible for the overall Emirates operation in Ethiopia and will oversee sales and customer service, cargo and airport operations. “I’m excited to have been given the opportunity to lead the Emirates team in Ethiopia. This is a great honour and I look forward to taking the business forward with my team. My focus in the market will be to continue providing our customers with the best possible service and value for money, as we connect them to more than 140 destinations across the world,” said Mr. Parambil.
Mr. Parambil holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and he has completed an extensive training programmes across Finance, Marketing and Management in aviation from various colleges.
Emirates established operations in Ethiopia in March 2006. Currently, the airline flies daily from Bole International Airport to Dubai, connecting passengers to more than 140 destinations in 80 countries across six continents. EK 723 departs Dubai International Airport every day at 1030hrs and arrives at the Bole International Airport at 1330hrs. The return flight, EK 724, leaves Bole International Airport at 1610hrs and lands in Dubai at 2120 hrs every day.
