Hospitality accelerates development in the tourism sector
The third hotel show opened on 12th June 2015 for a four-day hospitality and tourism trade show at Millennium Hall, Addis Ababa. The fair brought itself to the public in 2013 aiming to introduce hospitality and tourism business geared towards adding value to the sector. First it was presented at the United Nations Conference Centre. This business get-together has seen 50 participants and 120 brands. For the second time, it has attracted 70 participants with 200 brands in hospitality and related sectors.
The four-day show has incorporated 110 national and international companies representing over 250 brands from Italy, France, USA, China, Thailand, South Africa, Egypt, Turkey and United Arab Emirates amongst others. The third time show is seeing bigger charm with exhibitors occupying 90 per cent of the largest hall space.
It displayed hotels, resorts, lodges and products such as hotel equipment, hotel supplies, construction materials, beverages, interior decoration, materials and many more. From simple setups to more complex corner pavilions, the demonstration comes in many different styles and colorful configurations. It is characterized to cater to the needs of the visitors showcasing the finest of the sector.
Targeting to prepare a similar hotel show in less than a year the organizing company Ozzie Business & Hospitality Group aims to upgrade the event’s brand name and recognition not only locally but at the international hospitality and tourism business ground.
The show is well received by stakeholders mostly coming during the day while other visitors crowd the place after their hassle of the working day is over. One of those stakeholders was Jovago.com, an online hotel booking service provider with offices in Nigeria, Kenya, Senegal founded by Africa Internet Group having MTN and Tigo as investors. It is Africa’s leading hotel booking website which joined the Ethiopian market this May.
The company facilitates hotel booking process for its users providing them with the best hotel booking experiences with fast, transparent and easy-to-use services. Having about 25,000 local hotel listings across Africa, over 400 hotels in Ethiopia and more than 200,000 hotels around the globe, it is aspiring to showcase itself at the upcoming hotel show event.
Certainly, the hotel show expo may host many more exhibitors that aims to change their visitor status to exhibitor on the coming event as it is already attracting bigger international companies.
