CAN 2017: Lesotho 1 Algeria 3
Maseru – Algeria extended its lead in Group J for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with a 3-1 victory over Lesotho here today.
The two teams went into the dressing room at half-time with the score leveled at 1-1.
Faouzi Ghoulam opened the score for Algeria with a nice lob over the advancing goalie 32 minutes into the game but Lesotho managed to tie the score with a beautiful volley goal by Ralekoti Mokhahlane six minutes later.
Five minutes before the end of the game, El-Arbi Hilal Soudani gave Algeria the lead and he followed that with his second goal in extra time.
With this result, Algeria seats on top of Group J with 6 points from 2 matches, followed by Ethiopia (4 points).
