Passengers welcome daily Muscat-Addis Ababa flights of Ethiopian Airlines
MUSCAT: Ethiopian Airlines’ direct daily flights between Muscat and Addis Ababa, that come with special offers to various locations in Africa with excellent connection in Addis, have been warmly welcomed by passengers.
“We started operating daily flights from July 21 this year to offer more options to our esteemed customers,” Sami Muctar, Ethiopian Airlines’ country manager in Oman, said, adding that the special offers are for flight to Addis, Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, Khartoum, Nairobi and Mombasa.
Speaking to the Times of Oman, Muctar said the national carrier of Ethiopia, the continent’s largest and most profitable airline, had long planned to launch daily flights between the two capitals but the move was delayed due to various factors.
“Currently, we are receiving very positive feedback, both from our customers and sales partners in Oman and Africa,” he added.
Muctar said the daily flights will help enhance tourism and trade between the two countries and also benefit around 27,000 Ethiopians currently living in Oman.
“The Ethiopian Airlines flies to over 50 destinations in Africa and our passengers will have a wide range of options,” he noted, adding that the carrier has been promoting its holiday tour packages to Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Seychelles and South Africa.
Special offers
“We are also promoting our family fare whereby a family of four gets one free ticket for every three tickets purchased,” he said, adding that the offer will remain valid until the end of December 2015.
Also, if passengers purchase a package, they can enjoy a very attractive offer, said the official at the Ethiopian Airlines.
“Our current price for a return ticket between Muscat and Addis Ababa is around OMR176 but if you purchase a package, you can get a two-way ticket for OMR200 that also comes with a three-night stay in Addis Ababa,” Muctar said.
