Ethiopia Walia Ibex arrive in Gaborone for Botswana friendly
Ethiopia Walia Ibex today arrived safely in Gaborone,Botswana ready for their much anticipated International friendly with hosts Zebra’s who will use the match as celebrations for Independence day tomorrow.
Speaking to Soka25east.com upon arrival in Gaborone Ethiopia Walia Ibex coach Yohannes Sahle was happy with the fixture terming it an important build up match against a very formidable side.
“As a coach I am happy with such friendlies because they give me an opportunity to assess my players work rate and get to know the departments that should be strengthened ahead of our World Cup qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.Botswana is a team with pedigree and I know it will be a very good match worthy of their important occasion to celebrate their independence day” Sahle told soka25east.com
On his part EFF President Junedin Basha who did not travel with the team thanked their hosts Botswana Football Federation for honouring Ethiopia in their special day “We feel honoured as a country and a federation to be involved in the auspicious occasion of the Botswana Independence day we know that such important matches strengthens our relationship as two friendly countries.We have urged the players to make it a memorable occasion with good football”Basha told soka25east.com
Botswana will use the International friendly with Ethiopia as part of the fanfare and celebrations in the capital city Gaborone.
Ethiopia will use the game to prepare for their World Cup 2018 Qualifier against São Tomé e Principe while Botswana will play Ethiopia’s neighbours Eritrea.
