CAF Total Champions League: St. George eliminates Cote d’Or 5-0 on aggregate
Hawassa – St George, Ethiopia’s representative in the 2017 CAF Total Champions League, advanced to Round 16 after eliminating Cote d’Or of the Seychelles 5-0 on aggregate score.
St. George won the first leg match 2-0 and was leading 3-0 in the return leg match yesterday before the match was abandoned in the 54th minute due to the heavy rain that made the pitch impossible to play on.
The two teams played the remaining 36 minutes this morning and despite dominating the match, St. George had to settles for the final 3-0 score.
St. George’s next opponent is AC Leopards de Dolisie of the Congo who eliminated UMS de Loum of Cameroon on away goal rule – 2-2 (1-0, 1-2).
The next round which will feature the 15 winners on Sunday, the 8 qualifiers from Saturday and the 9 seeded teams in the first round, will be played during the weeks of March 10-12 and 17-19.
