Ethiopian Premier League: Kidus Giorgis defeat Arba Minch 3-0
Addis Ababa – Kidus Giorgis (St George), defending champions of Ethiopian Premier League, defeated Arba Minch Kenema 3-0 to move up to second place behind current leader Dedebit FC, who beat Sidama Bunna 5-2 yesterday.
Giorgis’ goals came from Fofana (43′), Nikima (83′) and Mintesenot (90′).
In today’s other matches, Mekelakeya scored a 1-0 away victory in Adigrat 1-0; Wolaitta Dicha, Ethiopia’s representative in this year CAF Confederation Cup, lost 1-0 at home to Mekelle Ketema and Adama Kenema was held to a scoreless tie by the visiting Fasil Kenema.
The league will continue tomorrow with Jimma Abba Jifar hosting Ethiopian Bunna (Coffee). Tuesday’s match between Woldia Kenema and Ethio-Electric has been postponed.
Dedebit is on top with 13 points from 7 matches followed in second place by Kidus Giorgis with 11 points from 5 matches. Four teams, Welwalo Adigrat, Fasil Kenema, Hawassa Kenema and Adama Kenema have 10 points from 7 matches each.
