Wolaita Dicha, St. George to play second leg match in Confederation Cup

In the coming week, Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) defending champions St. George and Ethiopian Cup winners Wolaita Dicha are set to play in CAF Confederation Cup second leg fixtures.

St. George will travel to Central Africa to face the Congolese side CARA Brazzaville while Wolaita Dicha hosts Young Africans of Tanzania at home.

Last weekend, St. George beat the Congolese side CARA 1-0 at the Addis Ababa Stadium. A second half header from forward Adane Girma on the 78th minute helped St. George secure a crucial home win advantage.

The return match is scheduled to take place in Brazzaville on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

Meanwhile, Wolaita Dicha which were drawn in the playoff round with Young Africans, was defeated by the Tanzanian side 2-0 in the leg match. Raphael Daudi opened the scoring in the first minute and Emmanuel martin doubled their tally in the 54th minute.

The return match will take place on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in Hawassa International Stadium.

This match will be a do or die for Wolaita in front of their massive fans in Hawassa. The winner of the two legs will advance to the group stages.  Dicha won against Zimamoto 2-1 in preliminary round and prevailed against the mighty Zamalek 4-3 on a penalty shout-out in the first round to get here.
