CAF Confederation Cup: Jimma Aba Jifar to face Hassania Union Sport d’Agadir Tomorrow
Addis Ababa – Jimma Aba Jifar, defending Ethiopian Premier League Champion and Ethiopia‘s representative in the CAF Confederation Cup, will face Hassania Union Sport Agadir (HUSA) of Morroco in the first leg match of the competition here tomorrow.
According to a report posted on HUSA’s website, the team arrived in the Ethiopian capital in the early hours on Friday, where they were received at Bole International Airport by a delegation from the Moroccan Embassy in Addis Ababa and by a representative of Jimma Aba Jifar. Meanwhile, the team’s journey from Cairo to Addis Ababa had a surprising twist as the team’s physician Dr. Guergach helped save the life of an Ethiopian passenger who had a very serious illness. Fortunately, everything went well and the plane continued its flight to Addis without any problem. All the occupants of the plane warmly applauded the assistance provided bt the team’s doctor.
The Ethiopian champion are taking part in the continental competition following their elimination from the CAF Champions League by Egyptian giants Al Ahly on a narrow 2-1 aggregate score a month ago.
The Moroccan side faced Generation Foot of Senegal in the qualification round and were able to squeeze through with a 2-1 aggregate score.
The Agadir-based club was founded in 1946 and plays its home game at Stade Adrar. It is currently in second place
