Fatuma Sado of Ethiopia Wins Osaka Women’s Marathon

Osaka, Japan – Fatuma Sado of Ethiopia won the 38th Osaka International Women’s Marathon in a time of 2:25:39 here today.

The 27-year-old Ethiopian, who became just the fourth African to win the race after Lornah Kiplagat and Catherine Ndereba of Kenya and Amane Gobena of Ethiopia, was however not pleased with her finishing time as it was not fast enough to be selected for the Ethiopian Olympic team,

Rei Ohara of Japan was second, seven seconds behind the winner, with Bornes Jepkirui another 15 seconds behind in third.
