Scoreless Tie for Kidus Giorgis in Adama, Mekelakeya Defeats Dedebit 3-0
Adama – Ethiopian Premier League resumed here today where host Adama Kenema was held to a scoreless tie by league leaders Kidus Giorgis (Saint George SA) , while Dedebit continues its downward spiral with a 3-0 trashing by Mekelakeya in Mekelle.
Mekelakeya opened the score just one minute into the start of the game thanks to Frew Solomon and current league top scorer Menyelu Wondimu added a brace to bring his season tally so far to 11 goals.
Wolaita Dicha beat their southern neighbors Sidama Bunna 2-1 to join Kidus Giorgis at the top of the league table. The two teams have 26 points each but Kidus Giorgis has a better goal difference (+13 vs +8). However, Sidama has one game in hand and should they win, they could overtake the league leaders.
Following a scoreless first-half, Wondemeneh Aynalem put Sidama ahead in the 56th minute. Baye Gezahegn leveled the score twenty minutes later only to see the visitors grab the winner four minutes later courtesy of Addis Gidey.
