CAf Champions League: Mekelle 70 Enderta held to a draw by Cano Sport

Mekelle, Ethiopia – Mekelle 70 Enderta, Ethiopian Premier League champions and Ethiopia’s representative in the 2019 CAF Champions League failed to advance to the next round after being held to a 1-1 draw in the second leg match by Cano Sport Academy of Equatorial Guinea here today.

In the first match played a couple weeks ago, Cano won 2-1 and as the result advanced to the next round on a 3-2 aggregate score.

Mekelle, which was participating in the continental competition for the first time, started well with Amanuel G.Michael scoring just 11 minutes into the game but Cano responded with a goal of its own thanks to Benjamin Naone just two minutes before the end of the first half.
