Tadese Tola finishes second in Commerzbank Frankfurt Marathon
Frankfurt, Germany – Ethiopian marathon runner Tadese Tola, who turned 23 today, finishes second in the Commerzbank Frankfurt Marathon behind winner Wilson Kipsang of Kenya who shattered the course record.
Tadese was well prepared for the race running 180-200 kilometers a week in Addis Ababa and he wanted to celebrate his birthday with a victory run under 2:06. Unfortunately, he finished second in a time of 2:06.31.
The 28-year-old Kipsang took advantage of mild conditions and finished in 2 hours, 4 minutes, 57 seconds to become the eighth fastest marathon runner.
The Frankfurt Marathon became only the fourth event after Berlin, Rotterdam and Dubai with a course record under 2:05 hours.
