Ethiopia Football: Defence vs Ethiopian Coffee, Clash of the Titans
Addis Ababa – The top two leaders of the current Ethiopian Premier League season, Defence Force and Ethiopian Coffee, will face each other this Sunday in what is regarded as clash of the titans, when Week 6 resumes this week.
The undefeated Defence Force currently seats at the top of the league with 12 pts from 4 games played, with Ethiopian Coffee and Ethiopian Banks trailing in second and third places respectively with 11 pts (5gp).
When the two teams meet this Sunday, Defense Force will be without the services of three key players who left for Tanzania today with the national team, to take part in the CECAFA Challenge Cup. Ethiopian Coffee, on the other hand, will have a full squad as none of their players were selected for the national team.
One match that is also getting attention is the Ethiopian Banks vs Harar Brewery encounter here at the Abebe Bikila Stadium on Sunday. Ethiopian Banks could go on top of the league should it win and if the clash of the titans ends up in a draw.
St. George (6) and Dedebit (5) will rest this week as they will miss 11 players between them for the national squad. The league rules state a team missing more than 3 players for the national squad, is given a bye.
