Gebrehiwot & Kebede clinch Great Ethiopian Run
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Hagos Gebrehiwot* in the men and Aberu Kebede in the women’s category won the 2012 Great Ethiopian Run here today, according to a report posted on RFI.
The Great Ethiopian Run, which is now in its 12th year, is the largest running events in Africa. 36,000 runners took part in today’s event.
Gebrehiwot and Aberu are not strangers to the athletic world. Hagos, who won a stage in the Diamond League when he was just 18, is the current world record holder in the 5,000m junior race, while Aberu won the Berlin Marathon just 2 months ago.
