Ethiopia Ready to Host 20th AU Summit
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (WIC) – Preparations are finalized for the 20th African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government Summit to be held in Addis Ababa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday.
In a press conference it gave in connection with the Summit, the Ministry said 36 presidents from Africa and Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas would attend the Summit. In addition, higher officials of various world countries and leaders of different international institutions would participate in the Summit.
The participants would begin arriving in Addis Ababa as of 24 January 2013, the Ministry said.
The Ministry called up on the public to show the usual cooperation for the traffic crowd to happen on the paths from Bole Airport to the hotels and AU Headquarters during the Summit.
According to ERTA, the 25th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representative Committees (PRC) was officially kicked off on Monday 21 January and the AU Summit would last on 28 January 2013
